Announcements and Upcoming Events

Flowers on the altar this week were given by the Tscharner family in celebration of Dorean Davis’ 80th birthday.

This week at Trinity we pray, especially, for: Lori Cutsinger, Jeri Miller, Joy Blair, John Hanaway, Carol Holt and Doris Scott’s daughter Sharon. We pray for the repose of the soul of Gerry Moore.

Being Christian - a four-week exploration of the book by the same name (by Rowan Williams) will happen on July 18 and 25 and August 1 and 8. We will offer the class in Jane’s Hall at 10.30 am and again at 5.30 pm. The sessions will include communion and should take no more than 90 minutes. All are welcome, but this is especially helpful for those seeking more knowledge of our Christian faith and those who are seeking confirmation or re-affirmation of faith.

July 22nd, 5:30pm: Book Study in Jane’s Hall.

July 28th, 9:30am: joint coffee hour BETWEEN church services.

July 28th, 12:00pm: Vestry meeting in Jane’s Hall.

Iconography at Trinity - Fr Paul will conduct a basic introduction to painting icons. We will paint a simple Face of Christ, like the one in his office. Class will meet at Jane’s Hall on Friday August 2 and on Saturday August 3 from 9 am to 4 pm. No painting experience is needed and materials will be provided ($25). Please email Fr Paul to sign up and get more details.

Aug. 10th: A diocesan course "Resisting Racism" will be offered at St Luke's, Auburn. Racial Reconciliation training will be offered in Auburn CA. The day will provide an opportunity to come together as congregational leaders to learn how to help our worship communities appreciate and welcome the great diversity of people among us and around us, and to develop tools to work against the forces of racism in our world, and to be communities of reconciliation.

When: Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Where: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 124 Orange St., Auburn, CA 95603

Registration: Free event; lunch is included. Register by Aug. 2.

Contact: Commission for Intercultural Ministries Co-chair Linda Jensen, at lmjensen.rio@gmail.com

In our diocese, this training is required for all clergy, for all lay people who are engaged in ministries of governance (diocesan boards and commissions, as well as vestries and mission committees), along with licensed lay ministers.

Aug. 11th: Tuna Sunday. Bring canned tuna to church in support of the Food Bank.

New Forward Day by Day books are available in the church stairwell rack.

A new church directory is available at the back of the church.
